Peachy News: A tiny Peak at The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Teaser

In this small preview you see where Katniss Everdeen and Peta Melark are introduced to take part of the 74th annual Hunger Games! Peachy News: More Divergent Actors Casted!

Hello, Hello everyone! I hope all you readers out there are having a fun, sunny and work/school free Tuesday ;)

Readiculously-Peachy has been a bit slow lately with posting/reading/reviewing due to the fact that I have a very terrible financial exam coming up soon! Seeing that I want and need to pass it, as it's the only exam standing in the way of my graduation, I have decided to take on a tutor to help me out. Soo... that unfortunately leaves me will less time posting, reading and reviewing!!

Anyways, I thought I would share a nice goodie with you guys just because this just came out in the open (and because I love you alll )! Seeing that I have been in the 'Divergent mood' for a while now on this blog, I have another news flash for the fans (well for those who didn't already know).

Three more characters in the Divergent movie (rumored to come out on March 21st, 2014, so brace yourselves for a long wait!) have been casted: Edward, Al and Will!

Ben Lam will be playing Edward, Christian Madsen will be playing Al, and Ben Lloyd Hughes will be playing Will!

I must say, I find the actors quite adult-looking, which I am actually relieved and happy about because then I don't have to be scared that Divergent is going to be another of those sappy teenage movies! It's a very serious, hardcore and violent story, so I hope they decide to keep it in that atmosphere.

What do you guys think of the castings? Were these three handsome guys who you had in mind for the roles?

Let me know in the comments below!

P.s: Giveaway + Review coming up soon so keep your eyes peeled ;)

Unless you have been living under a rock lately, you should know by now that Divergent, written by Veronica Roth, is being made into a movie!! So most of you may already know who has been casted to play Tris' character, Shailene Woodley, and Four's character, Alexander Ludwig (I am not so sure about this one)...

...but now it is made clear who will be playing Tori, Christina and Caleb. It has recently been announced by Veronica Roth that Maggie Q, (aka Margaret Denise Quigley) who is also seen in Nikita and Mission: Impossible III, will be playing tatoo-crazed Tori! Zoe Kravitz, the daughter of Lenny Kravits, who is also seen in X-Men: First Class, will be playing Christina. And Ansel Elgort, who will also be starring in the upcoming horror movie Carrie, will be playing Caleb. See pictures below (from left to right: Tris, Four, Tori, Christina, and Caleb)

Pictures from IMDB & hollywoodreporter.com

I am really not sure about Four... to be brutally honest I pictured Four as a very Bold, confident and handsome character and unfortunately I do not see this in Alexander Ludwig. I also imagined Tori to be way more 'brute' looking... I feel like Maggie Q is way too pretty for the role ;)

What do you guys think about the casting so far? Is this how you portrayed the characters in your mind while you were reading the book(s)?

Peachy News: Books into Movies 2013

Hello fellow book lovers!

I thought I would share something a little different today other than purely book reviews and book updates. As I was doing a little researhing I was very (VERY!) excited to find out that some book which I have read (and adored) are slowly in the making of becoming a movie! I couldn't help but let out a little scream of excitement! I know for a fact now that (almost) no movie beats the true essence, beauty and "in-depthness" of a book, however I still enjoy watching the story of a book being played out on the big screens! There are many more books out there which will be made into a movie, but I wanted to show you these to make it a little interesting (and exciting)!

The Book: Blood Red Road
The Author: Moira Young
Movie or TV show? Movie!
Review: See my review *here*
Status: In development
Coming out: 2014
The Gossip: "The incredible box office successes of Harry Potter, Twilight and The Hunger Games has left movie producers scrambling for the next young adult phenomenon. Moira Young's "Blood Red Road" is in production with Ridley Scott with an eye on 2014. It's Young's first novel and she has plans for a trilogy under the title 'Dust Lands'" Examiner.com
The Trailer: (Created by Author)

I am so extremely excited for this book to come out as a movie. As I had mentioned in my Liebster Award interview I strongly felt that Blood Red Road would make a perfect movie! There is not a lot of information out yet about the casting, director, or status of the movie but there are speculations that the movie is expected to come out in 2014. That means a very long wait for us Blood Red Road fans, but at least it's something to look forward to! I still need to read the second book of Moira Young's trilogy,  Rebel Heart, so that will definitely be next on my TBR list! Please read my review on Blood Red Road  here.

The Book: Delirium
The Author: Lauren Oliver
Movie or TV show? TV show!
Film Rights: Disney
Review: See my review *here*
Status: In development
Coming out: 2013
The Gossip: "Deadline reports that Fox 2000 has purchased the screen rights to the New York Times bestselling novel, in addition to signing a first-look deal with Lauren's company Paper Lantern Lit (meaning more of the author's works could land in theaters in the coming years)." hollywoodcrush.mtv.com
The Trailer: (Created by Author)

I wasn't sure what to think when Lauren Oliver stated that Delirium may be turned into a TV show. It is unsure yet which channel will broadcast the series (CW? Fox?) and who would be in the cast, but I hope they really don't fail to portray how beautiful this original and emotional story truly is. I look forward to the developments of this series and to find out who will be directing it and most of all, who will be playing Lena! Who do you think would be the ideal actress for the part?

The Book: Matched
The Author: Ally Condie
Movie or TV show? Movie!
Review: See my review *here*
Status: In development
Coming out: 2013
The Gossip: "Disney and Offspring Entertainment have formed a love connection over Ally Condie's upcoming young adult novel "Matched."
The Mouse House fended off Paramount in a bidding war to pick up the film rights to the soon-to-be-published book for the shingle, run by Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot, to produce." variety.com
The Trailer: (Created by Author)

Even though I was never really fond of the book, I was always in love with the concept of Matched. I thought that it very unique and special. The book itself I was unfortunately not very fond of. Nonetheless, I am still pretty excited to see how this book will turn out to be as a serie, and perhaps they will tweak a few things in order to make it more 'likable' for the viewers (seeing that not a lot of readers were fond of the book). Check out my review here!

Thankfully there are many more books which are slowly being made into movies, for example Divergent, The Host, Beautiful Creatures, The Maze Runner, etc. Even though not all movies originated from books seem to be as 'satisfying' as the books itself, but I always do find it exciting to see how the author and producer pictured the story line, the characters, and other things! I'm sure we still have a long time to wait until these three books will be out on the big screen (or on your TV), but it will definitely be interesting to keep an eye on these and to look forward to when they do finally come out :)

Are you waiting for any books to be made into a movie?

City of Bones: Movie Trailer

Movie: City of Bones
Series: The Mortal Instruments
From the Author: Cassandra Clare
Movie Director: Harald Zwart (The Karate Kid)
Mentioned Release date: August 23rd, 2013

Unless you have been living under a rock in the past few weeks, you must know now that the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (Book #1 of the series by Cassandra Clare) is going to be made in a movie and will be out in cinemas by August 23rd, 2013 (I can't wait this long!!).

Now I know, from my book review on City of Bones I did not seem overly excited about it. But the further I got through the series, the more I fell in love with the stories and the characters! Especially after seeing this trailer I can't wait to see the first book as a movie! Now I know from experience that movies originating from books are not always as good as the book itself, but this will definitely not stop me from seeing City of Bones! The director is also known from the movies The Karate Kid, Pink Panther 2, and Agent Cody Banks. AND, he is Dutch (as I am), so there's a proud moment for me ^^

See the trailer below:

Now I wasn't too fond of the castings (as I imagined Jace much more built and Handsome!) but after seeing the trailer I am slightly more convinced.

The cast list is as following:

Clary Fray ....................... Lily Collins (Mirror Mirror: The Untold Adventures of Snow White)
Jace Wayland .................. Jamie Campbell Bower (Camelot ; The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 & 2)
Simon Lewis ................... Robert Sheehan (Season of the Witch)
Alec Lightwood ............... Kevin Zegers (It's a Boy Girl Thing)
Isabelle Lightwood .......... Jemima West
Valentine Morgenstern ..... Jonathan Rhys Meyers (From Paris with Love; The Tudors)
Jocelyn Fray ................... Lena Headey (300)
Luke Garroway ............... Aidan Turner (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey)
Magnus Bane .................. Godfrey Gao

Check for more information of the characters here.

Not too bad I would say, especially Alec Lightwood and Valentine Morgenstern (hubba hubba!). And they better dye Jonathan (Valentine's) hair bleach blond or else they'll completely fail to portray his icey cold character...

So are you readers who have read the City of Bones looking forward to the movie?? I know I am!!

Review on City of Glass (Book #3) will follow very soon!
