Peachy News: Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Trailer #2!

Another very exciting development of the movie City of Bones has developed! Not only has a new cinematic poster been revealed of the movie, but also the theatrical trailer has debuted last night.

This trailer is much longer than the first short teaser, and it reveals many more aspects of the story such as the characters and some action packed scenes! We get to see Jocelyn Fairchild, the mother of Clary, and Luke Greyback. We see the exciting primary parts of the book where Clary and Simon go out to the club and Clary witnesses Jace, Alex and Isabel killing a vampire in the club. We also have a peek at how Clary's mom disappears and Clary is attacked for the first time by a demon.

I loved this trailer since there were many parts which so far really stay true to the actual story, and quotes which were word-for-word taken from the book! I hope that this is a sign that the movie will be an exact true-reflection of the book itself and that there is nothing to be disappointed about in the end ;)

I am trying out something new on my blog where I want to show my reactions and thoughts on new book arrivals, cover reveals, book-movie trailers, and more, depending on to what extent I want to take this idea. See here below my reaction and thoughts on the new trailer and let me know what you think :)

So what did you guys think about the trailer and what was you're reaction? Feel free to share in the comments below, under my reaction video, or as a video response!

Peachy News: Cast of City of Bones Q&A

Hello dear readers!

Fans of the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare must be pretty psyched by now to realize that the movie of the first book City of Bones is inching closer and closer to the cinema screen (I for one sure am!!).

Part of the cast (Lily Collins{Clary Fray}, Jamie Campbell {Jace Wayland}, and Kevin Zegers {Alec Lightwood}) showed up to the WonderCon 2013 yesterday where they not only held a Q & A but also exposed a new trailer and character posters of Clary and Jace.

Check out the video below!
Recordings by RamaScreen

The interviewer asked Cassandra Clare if the movie has kept to the story in the book and Ms. Cassandra's answer was that from what she saw it does keep the essence of the book and from the casting and the costumes she feels that it does portray true aspects of the story..

I really truly hope that they really keep close to the book, and not deviate of miss out huge chunks from the story which I felt they did with the Hunger Games. Hunger Games movie was lacking the connectivity and the built of relationship between the characters, and that made me not like the movie as much as maybe other did... So I really hope the producers kept to the book and didn't 'loosen the ropes' on the important aspects of the story.

Apparantly the showed a new trailer however this was UNFORTUNATELY not recorded in YouTube recordings (very sad!!). But at least we know there is one out there so keep your eyes peeled! I am sure that it will be out very soon :)

I did however find some pictures from jaceandclary.com  of the new theatrical trailer:

You all know where that Garden scene leads to (aaaaahh :P)! I'm still very excited about the movie! To get a clearer idea of what the trailer revealed, you can read more about it here.

What do you guys think? Are you also still super excited for the movie to come out?

Peachy News: Pictures from City of Bones

Check out these fantastic images from the upcoming movie City of Bones

Pictures from cassandraclare.com

So excited!!

Ahh, after seeing these pictures I seriously cannot wait for the movie to come out! Even though it was not my favorite book out of the series, I'm still super thrilled. I just love the picture with Clary and Jace together, it's so heartwarming and romantic! At first I wasn't so sure about the characters but I am slowly but surely really warming up to them and I'm starting to see the cast as a right fit for the characters. The only character I was and still am hesitant about is Valentine. I somehow really pictures him differently, but hopefully with his acting he will in the end convince me ;)

What do you guys think of these pictures? Are you excited about the movie as I am and what do you think about the cast??

City of Bones: Movie Trailer

Movie: City of Bones
Series: The Mortal Instruments
From the Author: Cassandra Clare
Movie Director: Harald Zwart (The Karate Kid)
Mentioned Release date: August 23rd, 2013

Unless you have been living under a rock in the past few weeks, you must know now that the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (Book #1 of the series by Cassandra Clare) is going to be made in a movie and will be out in cinemas by August 23rd, 2013 (I can't wait this long!!).

Now I know, from my book review on City of Bones I did not seem overly excited about it. But the further I got through the series, the more I fell in love with the stories and the characters! Especially after seeing this trailer I can't wait to see the first book as a movie! Now I know from experience that movies originating from books are not always as good as the book itself, but this will definitely not stop me from seeing City of Bones! The director is also known from the movies The Karate Kid, Pink Panther 2, and Agent Cody Banks. AND, he is Dutch (as I am), so there's a proud moment for me ^^

See the trailer below:

Now I wasn't too fond of the castings (as I imagined Jace much more built and Handsome!) but after seeing the trailer I am slightly more convinced.

The cast list is as following:

Clary Fray ....................... Lily Collins (Mirror Mirror: The Untold Adventures of Snow White)
Jace Wayland .................. Jamie Campbell Bower (Camelot ; The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 & 2)
Simon Lewis ................... Robert Sheehan (Season of the Witch)
Alec Lightwood ............... Kevin Zegers (It's a Boy Girl Thing)
Isabelle Lightwood .......... Jemima West
Valentine Morgenstern ..... Jonathan Rhys Meyers (From Paris with Love; The Tudors)
Jocelyn Fray ................... Lena Headey (300)
Luke Garroway ............... Aidan Turner (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey)
Magnus Bane .................. Godfrey Gao

Check for more information of the characters here.

Not too bad I would say, especially Alec Lightwood and Valentine Morgenstern (hubba hubba!). And they better dye Jonathan (Valentine's) hair bleach blond or else they'll completely fail to portray his icey cold character...

So are you readers who have read the City of Bones looking forward to the movie?? I know I am!!

Review on City of Glass (Book #3) will follow very soon!

Book Review: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Rating:
Title: The City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1)
Author: Cassandra Care
Pages: 496
Publishing date: March 27th 2007

Synopsis:
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder― much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing―not even a smear of blood―to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.
